The new Compendium of Health Law was born from the need to provide an organic and in-depth reading of the broad framework of laws and regulations that govern the relationship between patients and the National Health Service ( health law ) and of the innumerable legislative interventions for planning and implementation that guarantee its functioning to protect health by achieving its objectives ( health legislation ).

This edition of the Compendium is profoundly renewed in its structure, graphics and the way in which the topics are treated. The language used is simple and immediate and the fundamental institutes of the discipline are examined starting from their definition , in order to immediately identify the first indispensable data to continue the study.

In the presentation of the topics , three didactic elements have been used, highlighted with different types of print and with specific icons: the in-depth analyses , for those who intend to examine and better understand a topic, the examples , which allow for the clarification of a concept, the differences , to define the characteristic traits of an institute in relation to similar ones.

To ensure a comprehensive knowledge of the subject, the most relevant orientations of the jurisprudence are then summarized in special boxes with a background. Where necessary, the indispensable normative reference for the study is highlighted, always in a box.

Finally, at the end of each chapter, there are summary sheets , for a quick review, and the most frequently asked questions during exams or competitions, so as to immediately verify the level of preparation achieved. As always in Simone's compendiums, an important space is dedicated to the most current issues and to the update on the most recent regulatory innovations.

In this edition, among the main innovations we can mention the new Public Contracts Code ( Legislative Decree 36/2023 ), Legislative Decree 62/2024 on disability and the decree on the reduction of waiting lists (DL 73/2024 converted into L. 107/2024).

Due to its characteristics, the new Compendium of Health Law represents a valid support for university students, participants in public competitions and for the professional updating of operators in the sector.
