The amendment to the Highway Code

The volume analyses the individual corrective-integrative interventions of Law 25 November 2024, n. 177, which came into force on 14 December 2025. It is divided into ten chapters, each dedicated to the individual sedes materiae of intervention. Starting from the amendments to the general provisions (definition and classification of roads and amendments to traffic regulations) and final provisions (road education, art. 230) of the Highway Code, it then focuses on the innovations in the area of: - construction and protection of roads; - vehicles; new driving of vehicles and leading of animals; - rules of conduct (including speed limits; compulsory insurance); - administrative offences and accessory administrative sanctions (suspension of driving licence and short suspension in relation to the score); - criminal road law. It also examines the other reformed provisions external to the Highway Code, as well as the innovations in the regulation of electric micromobility. The volume is completed by two summary diagrams, one relating to the structure of Law 177/2024 and the other on the modified articles of the Highway Code; as well as a regulatory appendix, which reports the text of some provisions impacted by Law 177/2024 with useful bold highlights of the modified parts.
