This manual aims to simplify the structure of traditional manuals, basing it on five chapters, corresponding to as many thematic nuclei essential for the understanding of public law - the parable of sovereignty, rights, the form (or type) of State, the forms of government (of State, Regions and local autonomies) and guarantees - to which the multiple topics of study are traced. For each of these thematic nuclei, it was intended to highlight the solid constitutional root of our system of public law and at the same time the significant evolution that has occurred in the more than seventy-five years of validity of the Constitutional Charter: the limitations of the sovereignty of the Italian State, in particular with respect to the European Union, the ever-increasing relevance of personal rights, the increased autonomy of territorial entities with respect to the State, the transformations of the form of government, the importance of constitutional jurisprudence are the major themes that have undergone a very significant evolution since the entry into force of the Constitution to today but which nevertheless continue to find their deep root in the Constitution. The fundamental topics of the sources of law (with particular attention to the relationship between internal and Union sources) and the relationship between law and economics (with particular attention to competition, financial autonomy and the Stability and Growth Pact) are transversal to the five thematic nuclei. For the better understanding of the students, the text is integrated with diagrams and insights on specific topics.
