European Public Finance Law Lessons

The work collects some of the university lectures held within the Jean Monnet European Public Finance Law Module (2022-2024) of the Department of Legal Sciences of the University of Bologna, co-financed by the European Commission and coordinated by Prof. Andrea Mondini, editor of the volume.

The work illustrates and comments on the principles, rules and legal institutions of European economic governance. It analyses in particular the impact that EU law and monetary policy have on national public finances and the interdependencies that the Next Generation EU has strengthened between the Union budget and those of the Member States. The analysis is conducted both in a historical-evolutionary perspective and in the light of the most recent reforms, such as that of the Stability and Growth Pact in 2024.

As already happened for the teaching activity, the written discussion also uses a multidisciplinary method, which integrates and combines the contributions of teachers and experts from different legal areas, ranging from general subjects such as European Union Law and Public Law to more specific areas such as Financial Law, Tax and Customs Law, Banking Law.
