The volume collects some essays on interpretation and judicial precedent according to a plan that has been expressed in the last three years, as well as in some of the curator's writings, in two conferences organized by the curator himself, the first held at the University of Cagliari on May 12, 2023, entitled: Interpretation and guarantees of criminal law. Dialogue between doctrine and jurisprudence, dedicated to Maria Meloni, with the participation of illustrious professors and high magistrates; the second held at the University of Padua on October 16, 2023, entitled: Criminal law as a limit to criminal policy and interpretation, on the occasion of the curator's first lesson in Padua, with the participation of illustrious professors. Also included, for comparative interest, are some contributions on the subject of populism, presented by the professors of Frankfurt am Main at the Padua Conference of October 28-29, 2024, organized by the curator, entitled Which criminal law for Europe? Finally, some of Maria Meloni's writings are proposed again, as well as the memory of her activity as a "liberal" judge, particularly involved in the field of interpretation and judicial precedent, which can constitute an interesting testimony of some components of the richness and complexity, as well as of the ideal pluralism, of the formation of our jurisprudence.
